Troubleshooting Sound Not Working on Windows
Introduction:
If your Windows PC is experiencing sound issues, here are some steps to help get your audio back on track.
Steps to Troubleshoot:
-
Check Volume Settings: Make sure your volume isn’t muted or set too low. Also, check individual app volume levels.
-
Check Output Device: Go to the sound settings and ensure the correct audio output device is selected (e.g., speakers or headphones).
-
Update Audio Drivers: Outdated drivers can cause sound problems. Visit the manufacturer’s website to download the latest drivers for your sound card.
-
Run Windows Audio Troubleshooter: Open the Settings, go to Troubleshoot, and run the audio troubleshooter to diagnose and fix the problem.
-
Restart Audio Services: Press Win + R, type “services.msc,” and restart all services related to Windows audio.
-
Check Hardware: Make sure your speakers or headphones are properly connected and functioning by testing them with another device.
